Wednesday night - visiting Julien

Julien stayed with us when he was 14, in 1991. Our kids were 9 and 5. We had such a wonderful time, he returned in a few years. Then hiis parents came too. Periodically, through the years, we have visited them. But we are not in regular contact.

Now in his late 30's, Julien grew up to be a great actor, and is married to a great actress. Check YouTube or Google under their names (Julien Lubek, Cecile Roussat), or Le Shlemil Theatre. Here's a fun link to whet your appetite:  https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jJG-CxhdMDo.

The good news is that Julien and Cecile are opening a new show in Paris while we are here, and we will get to see it! The bad news is that they are so busy, it was not an ideal time for a visit. But they insisted. And we really wanted to meet Cecile and their three-year-old son, Desire.

We took a train SW out of Paris to the end of the line, a little town called Saint Remy les Chevreuse. Julien met us there in a big truck.
Then we drove for 15 more minutes through farm country.
Here is the castle for the area, built in the 1500's.
Julien and Cecile bought a house that originally housed servants in the castle.

We met the cat, Chatelaine. It's a great cat name because it's a pun. In French, a chatelaine is the mistress of a castle or large house. But here's where the fun starts. Chat means cat, and laine means wool. So it also means wool cat.

Here are Lauren and Bloss.
Desire is a bundle of good energy.
We had pizza, and Cecile made a salad.
Rebecca and I enjoyed catching up, and remembering fun we had with Julien twenty-five years ago!
